Acrylics and genuine 24 ct. gold leaf on Canvas
60 X 73.5 cm
The canvas has gone through lots of changes and has an almost leather like quality. The ring is made from 24 ct Gold leaf. The centre circle sparkles in the light to focus your gaze- making this a meditative artwork.
I’m drawn to circles and find them meditative and a source of energy. When I think of beauty and spirituality - I think of circles - The Sun - The Moon and The Circle of Life.
Vishuddha (Sanskrit: विशुद्ध the fifth primary chakra in the Hindu tradition.
The Throat Chakra regulates your self-expression in all senses, influencing how authentically you convey your deepest self to the world. Your directness, emotional honesty and ownership of your needs connect to this area.
Physical Location: In the middle of the throat.
Color: Blue.
Element: Ether (Akasha)
Ether is the synergy of all the elements. Ether is space, stillness, that which contains and holds. Ether is the element that connects us to spirit, intuition, other realms and planes.

Mūlādhāra Chakra, 2019
Private Collection, UK
Mixed-media on Canvas
81 x 55 cm
The Root Chakra
Sanskrit words – Mūla = Root, Origin, Essence
Ādhāra = Basis, Foundation
Physical Location: The bottom of your spine
Element: Earth (Prithvi)
Colour: Red
Seed/Mantra: Lam
Gemstones: Garnet, red jasper, black tourmaline, and bloodstone. You can place the gemstone on the area of the chakra while lying down to help open and align it.
Mūlādhāra Chakra is the first of the chakras of matter. Balancing the root chakra creates the solid foundation for opening the chakras above.
The root chakra is responsible for your sense of safety and security on this earthly journey.
The Root Chakra is believed to be a survival centre making it the most instinctual of all chakras. Stabilising the foundation of the body is important to sense completeness.
My paintings interpretation of Mūlādhāra Chakra aims to remind you of the essence of this Chakra.
The colour for this Chakra is red. I have painted a Red glow around the circle to radiate strength and vitality.
The red colour is also powerfully linked to our physical and emotional needs of survival and self-preservation.
The circle itself has a rough rocky texture which is symbolic of Planet Earth. Hints of Blue can be seen through the Gold. The Gold is symbolic of the Sun but also serves as a reminder that our Health is our Wealth.
